Spree, 2008

These images are extracted from an 8-minutes diaporama entitled «Spree» made to be projected in a theater and featuring a soundtrack by the german band Einstürzende Neubauten, taken from the album Ende neu (1996).

Opening on an exhaustion, displaying images of a nature always-already tracked and of worn-out, strip-minded characters, this series called spree tends to illustrate the experience of a complete breathlesness, and the feeling of running out of steam. These images also depict the drawn-out down-fall of the latent, burdensome authority discourse. Through the provocating fadeur of its tones, and the constant indetermination which characterizes its subjects, Spree may echoe Paul Verlaine's Romances sans paroles aesthetics. The series is accompanied by a deconstructed Paul Verlaine poem, google translated, read by Noé Cuellar Garza.
